Πώς θα υποστηρίξετε αυτή τη λαϊκή πρωτοβουλία;

MUSE is our resistance

Έχουν κυκλοφορήσει πέντε στούντιο άλμπουμ – Showbiz (1999), Origin of Symmetry (2001), Absolution (2003), Black Holes and Revelations (2006) και The Resistance (2009) – ένα live album, το HAARP (2008), και μία συλλογή, το Hullabaloo Soundtrack (2002).

Awards.

amakawiwoʻole was born at Kuakini Hospital in Honolulu to Henry Kaleialoha Naniwa Kamakawiwoʻole, Jr., and Evangeline Leinani Kamakawiwoʻole. He was raised in the community of Kaimuki, where his parents had met and married. He began playing music with his older brother Skippy and cousin Allen Thornton at the age of 11, being exposed to the music of Hawaiian entertainers of the time such as Peter Moon, Palani Vaughn, and Don Ho, who frequented the establishment where Kamakawiwoʻole's parents worked. Israel continued his path as his brother Skippy entered the Army in 1971 and cousin Allen parted ways in 1976 for the mainland.

From 1976 throughout the 1980s, the Hawaiian contemporary band gained in popularity as they toured Hawaii and the continental United States and released fifteen successful albums.

Kamakawiwoʻole formed the musical group Makaha Sons of Niʻihau with brother Skippy plus Louis "Moon" Kauakahi, Sam Gray and Jerome Koko. They recorded No Kristo in 1976 and released four more albums, including Kahea O Keale, Keala, Makaha Sons Of Niʻihau and Mahalo Ke Akua, before Skippy died of a heart attack in 1982. The group became Hawaii's most popular traditional group with breakout albums 1984's Puana Hou Me Ke Aloha and its follow-up, 1986's Hoʻola. Kamakawiwoʻole's last recorded album with the group was 1991's Hoʻoluana. It remains the group's top-selling CD.
In 1990, Kamakawiwoʻole released his first solo album Ka ʻAnoʻi, which won awards for Contemporary Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year from the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts (HARA). Throughout the later part of his life, Kamakawiwoʻole was obese and at one point carried 757 pounds (343 kg; 54.1 st) on his 6-foot-2-inch (1.88 m) frame.[4] He endured several hospitalizations because of problems caused by his weight. At age 38, he died of weight-related respiratory illness at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu on June 26, 1997, at 12:18 a.m.[4] Kamakawiwoʻole is survived by his wife, Marlene Kamakawiwoʻole, and his daughter, Ceslie-Ann "Wehi".[5]
The Hawaiʻi State Flag flew at half-staff on July 10, 1997, the day of Kamakawiwoʻole's funeral. His koa wood coffin lay in state at the Capitol building in Honolulu. He was the third person in Hawaiian history to be awarded this honor, and the only one who was not a government official. Approximately ten thousand people attended the funeral. Thousands of fans gathered as his ashes were scattered into the Pacific Ocean at Mākua Beach on July 12, 1997.[5]
On September 20, 2003, hundreds paid tribute to Kamakawiwoʻole as a bronze bust of the revered singer was unveiled at the Waianae Neighborhood Community Center on Oʻahu. The singer's widow, Marlene Kamakawiwoʻole, and sculptor Jan-Michelle Sawyer were present for the dedication ceremony.

Halloween, an unknown Festival for Greecea November 1, 2009

Halloween
Halloween is an unknown festival for the majority of Greeks. Most of us don’t even know what is this. The celebration has some elements of a festival of the dead. It is believed that the 31of October all spirits come to Earth and hung around. Maybe this is the reason why most people wear costumes and masks in order to ward off them. Traditionally costumes such as ghosts, skeletons, witches, and devils are common to scare off demons. The term Halloween is shortened from All Hallows’ Even by shortening even, which is the origin of the words “evening” and “eve”.This is from the old English now known as “Eve of” All Saints’ Day. A very common activity for kids which involves hanging up treacle or sweet. These must be eaten without using hands while they remain attached to the string, something which lead to a sticky face. Another game is Apple bobbing, also known as bobbing for apples. Is played by filling a tub with water and putting apples in the water. Apples will float at the surface. Players then try to catch them with their teeth without using their hands. All these costumes are very interesting and make me feel that that world varies so much in each place. It broaden my horizon the knowledge of foreign culture and costumes and make me more open-minded person.

Looking for a secluded and quiet place the options are plenty but the one which fits the bill perfectly. An exotic resort like Bahamas is ideal for spending my holidays and it will be always a place I want to visit. An experience like this would be in my mind for my rest of my life. All the 29 islands are low and flat, with ridges with a climate subtropical to tropical. The beaches are exotic and beautiful while are making you feel that you are the first man who visited them. The vistas of the scenic places are all great for a souvenir picture. The natural habitat is unaffected by human. Adding to this I will have the oportunity to know the culture of Bahamas and attend the Junkanoo music festival of Bahamas. Without hesitation I would recommend to everyone to visit Bahamas if seeks a place to forget everything and get away from stress

Teachers' day The world teachers day represents the day of appreciating the value of education and encourage the awareness for more talented passionate and willing to educate teachers. According to the Educational International 5th of October should be celebrated. More than 100 countries have this day as the teachers’ day. This campaign aims to create a society with awereness for the role of teacher and highlight their significance. I have also an interesting story to tell.I have spent most of my time inside a classroom. There are so many memorable times but one day is always in my memory. I was completelety confused in learning an economic programme and I told my trouble to the teacher. He understood my problem and after the lesson he exlpained me in private everything in detail at his office with patience. I would always remember him as the epitome of a good and talanted teacher.
